What inspired you to kickstart your fitness journey? Fitness has always been a significant part of my life. During nursing school, I was an indoor cycling instructor, which helped me balance the demands of my studies and maintain my well-being. My interest in fitness continued to grow, and in 2014, I started doing traditional Pilates. However, I quickly got bored and decided to try Lagree shortly after. Since then, I've been hooked.
How have you noticed yourself evolving since you started? Since starting Lagree at The Studio (MDR) in 2016, I've seen incredible changes in my strength, endurance, and overall fitness. I've become more toned and confident in my physical abilities. Lagree has pushed me to challenge myself in ways I never thought possible.
What’s been the biggest hurdle you’ve faced along the way? The biggest hurdle I've faced was working out during my pregnancy and postpartum. Maintaining my fitness routine while my body was changing was challenging, but I was determined to stay active. I continued doing Lagree throughout my second trimester, which helped me maintain my strength and stamina. Now, six months postpartum, I'm still working on regaining my pre-pregnancy strength, but I feel proud of the progress I've made.
Any pearls of wisdom for those just starting out? My advice for those just starting out is to find a workout that you genuinely enjoy and that feels like play, not a chore. Fitness should be fun and something you look forward to. Also, be patient with yourself and celebrate every small victory along the way.
How has your fitness journey spilled over into other aspects of your life? My fitness journey has positively impacted many aspects of my life. As a registered nurse, staying fit helps me manage the physical demands of my job and maintain my energy levels. It also boosts my mental health, giving me the resilience and confidence to handle life's challenges. Plus, staying active has set a great example for my family.
What keeps your fitness fire burning bright? Music is a huge motivator for me. Before my pregnancy, I was a big electric music festival goer, and the energy of the music keeps me pumped during workouts. Additionally, setting new fitness goals and seeing my progress keeps me motivated and excited to keep pushing myself.
What major fitness milestones are you aiming to conquer next? My next major milestone is to regain and even surpass my pre-pregnancy strength.
How has your mindset shifted since you began this journey? Since beginning my fitness journey, my mindset has shifted to embrace challenges and view them as opportunities for growth. I've learned to listen to my body, respect its limits, and celebrate its capabilities.
In what ways has The Studio (MDR) been instrumental in your transformation?
The Studio (MDR) has been a cornerstone of my fitness journey. The innovative workouts and motivating instructors have all played a crucial role in my transformation. The studio offers a unique blend of challenge and fun that keeps me coming back, and the encouragement from everyone here has helped me push through tough times and achieve my fitness goals.
